Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa was knocked unconscious by a vicious hit from Raffi Torres in the first period of game three on Tuesday night.

Hossa left the ice on a stretcher and was taken to a local hospital, he has since left the hospital on his own power. Torres was not given a penalty on the play.

Torres dodged a bullet last year in the playoffs when he somehow avoided a suspension after nailing Blackhawks defencemen Brent Seabrook behind the net. It will be interesting to see what the NHL does about this.
