Metta World Peace is ejected after elbowing James Harden in the head (Video)
Metta World Peace incited a riot at the Staples Centre on Sunday after he decked Thunder guard James Harden with an elbow. Peace had just finished a nice dunk in transition, and then he got jacked up and inexplicably drilled Harden.
Thunder players immediately ran at World Peace who stood firmly in a fighter stance, which brought back memories of the Malice at the Palace. Fortunately no fights broke out and after a video review, Peace was issued a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game. A suspension is likely.
Meanwhile in the game itself, the Lakers erased Oklahoma’s 18 point fourth quarter lead and came back to win 114-106 in double overtime. Russell Westbrook shot a brutal three for 22 on the night, and Kevin Durant wasn’t much better as he shot 11 for 34. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in double overtime scoring six of his team high 26 points.
Now, back to the elbow. So much for head shots only being a problem in the NHL!This elbow to the head makes Duncan Keith jealous…
