Magic Johnson Offers Lebron James One Million Dollars To Enter Dunk Contest (VIDEO)

Lebron James has been in the NBA for nine years and he’s never participated in the NBA Dunk Contest. It’s strange for a few reasons…

Firstly, Dwight Howard has participated, Blake Griffin has participated, and so has Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Dominique Wilkins. The dunk contest is a right of passage for many superstars. Secondly, if Lebron entered the contest, he’d win automatically. The NBA Dunk Contest is always littered with bench warmers, and there’s no way they could beat Bron-Bron in a popularity contest. Thirdly, there is no doubt that Lebron could pull off some awesome dunks.

Have you seen the dunking routines “The King” has been pulling off in warm-ups in recent weeks? He’s been throwing down some nasty crams, and some people are offended. Why are they offended? Because they think Lebron James is arrogantly reminding everyone that he could easily win the dunk contest if he wanted to…and those people kind of have a point. It’s no coincidence that Lebron suddenly started performing dunk shows after All-Star weekend. Seems as though he’s trying to send a message.

Magic Johnson has a message of his own.

Magic is getting has grown frustrated with the lack of star power in the NBA Dunk Contest, so he’s offering Lebron James one million dollars to participate. I feel like this offer is more likely to chase Lebron away, but I’m glad someone is putting some pressure on “King James” to participate…
