John Scott Fights Shawn Thornton, Gives Him A Concussion (VIDEO)
Buffalo Sabres enforcer John Scott recently dropped the mitts with Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton, and unfortunately for Thornton, he got mopped up pretty good. Thornton is now out for a week to 10 days with a concussion.
Thornton is one tough dude, but John Scott is 6’8, 270 pounds, and his right hand looks like a lunchbox. After the fight, Scott offered an interesting glimpse into the thought pattern of an enforcer…
“I was asking our trainers how he’s doing. You never want to hurt somebody, I was kind of concerned after the first period; we never saw him again. I still don’t know how he’s doing, hopefully he’s doing well. You hate to see someone leave the game like that.”
The attitude of NHL enforcers is truly ironic. They try to knock each other out, but at the same time they don’t want to see anyone get hurt. It’s kind of tough to do one without the other, isn’t it?
