Javale McGee Throws An Alley Oop To Himself…Again (VIDEO)

Last year, Javale McGee got in trouble after throwing an alley oop to himself against the Houston Rockets. Apparently he didn’t learn his lesson. On Wednesday, the seven footer did the exact same thing, and once again it was against the Houston Rockets.

On January 16 2012, McGee leaked out in transition and threw an alley oop to himself. Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders benched McGee for showboating…

“Apparently, if you get a fast break and throw it off the backboard in the third quarter, and you’re 1-11, you’re not supposed to do stuff like that,” McGee said at the time.

Flip Saunders defended his decision by stating that the Wizards needed to place substance ahead of style…

“We’ve got to get to where those plays, you know we identify with meat and potato basketball, playing hard, setting screens, playing the right way and not highlight type things and we’ve been saying that many times. You know we have some players that look for highlights rather than substance.”

Saunders has since been fired by the Wizards, McGee was traded to Denver, and the Wizards are still brutal. A lot has changed, but McGee’s ability to throw down acrobatic dunks is exactly the same. Regardless of whether you think this is showboating, you have to admit it’s very impressive.

Here’s both dunks…
