Floyd Mayweather Tops Forbes List of Highest Paid Athletes
Floyd Mayweather Jr may be devastated to be drinking tap water and eating “regular” food in jail, but he’ll be happy to know that he was the world’s highest paid athlete in 2011.
Forbes released its list of the 100 highest paid athletes, and Mayweather Jr. topped the list after making 85 million for knocking out an unsuspecting Victor Ortiz, and earning a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Cotto.
The man who everyone wants to see fight Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, was second on the list after earning 62 million in 2011.
Tiger Woods has been number on on this list for a decade, but this year he dropped to number three. The adulterer made 59.4 million, despite a brutal golf season, to lose his top spot.
The fourth place spot belongs to “The Chosen One,” also known as Lebron James. King James may have sucked out in the 2011 NBA Finals, but he earned 53 million in 2011.
Speaking of people who did absolutely nothing but made a lot of money, Peyton Manning placed tenth on the list. Manning made 42.4 million despite not taking a single snap in 2011. He earned the most money of any football player on the list.
Somewhere in the world, Tom Brady is complaining to Gisele.
