Austin Wates of the Corpus Christi Hooks launched himself over the fence to make a ridiculous catch while landing in the bullpen.

Corpus Christi is the double A affiliate of the Houston Astros, and this catch is bound to turn some heads. I have to say I feel pretty bad for the centre fielder who also went over the fence but didn’t come up with the ball. All of the effort but none of the glory. Regardless, this is one hell of a catch.

As an aside, if Wates had dropped the ball behind the fence what’s stopping him from just picking it up and saying he made the catch? It’s not like there is an umpire being the fence to verify the catch.
