Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva KO’s Alistair Overeem At UFC 156 (VIDEO)
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva shocked the world by knocking out Alistair Overeem at UFC 156. Silva was a massive underdog heading into the fight, and he was losing the fight heading into the final round. However, Silva caught The ‘Reem with a series of right hands which sent the hulking Dutchman to the floor.
Overeem was fighting for the first time since beating Brock Lesnar on December 30, 2011. “The Demolition Man” failed a subsequent drug test, and he was suspended for one year. UFC 156 marked Overeem’s return to the Octagon, and it really couldn’t have gone any worse.
Overeem has been trying to talk his way into a title fight for the past year, and with a win over Bigfoot, he was going to get it. However, Overeem got humbled in dramatic fashion, and all he has now is regrets and a bruised ego.
As for Silva, well he got absolutely dummied by Cain Velasquez at UFC 146, so I don’t anticipate “Bigfoot” getting a title shot.
